I used to love watching Nigel Benn box.

The ?Dark Destroyer? had this aura about him, when he fought you just knew the action would be explosive and brutal.

The manner in which he took opponents apart often had the crowd on their feet.

This Saturday, on the undercard of the huge promotion at the O2 Arena in London, a promotion topped by the IBF heavyweight title fight between Antony Joshua and Charles Martin, Nigel Benn?s son Conor makes his professional debut.

Conor, in his first professional bout, has been matched against the durable Luke Keleher, a fighter with limited experience but one who has never been stopped.

Ahead of the bout, Nigel, now 52-years-old, has spoken about his son to the media, remarking,

?Conor is going to be the next superstar.

?He knows I didn?t want him to fight and I didn?t expect this.

?But I saw how much he wanted it and then told him ?Go for it mate?.

?He?s got it all. He can box, he can bang, he?s got so much more than me.

?I?ve passed the baton and he?s got to run with it. He?s going all the way.?

It?ll be interesting, over the coming years, to see just how far in the professional game Conor Benn can go.

Can he match, or even better, the feats his dad achieved?
