On Saturday night, across the pond, Conor Benn made his debut on American soil.

Fighting on the under-card at the Nassau Coliseum, Long Island, New York, Benn was matched against the Mexican fighter Brandon Sanudo.

Benn, in dramatic style, stopped his opponent in the second round to take his record to 10-0 with 8 wins coming by knockout.

From the off Benn was throwing some ferocious shots, mainly to the body, his jab was fast and although the Mexican survived the first round, Benn was too good for him in the second with a left putting the Mexican on the canvas.

Following his explosive demolition of Sanudo, Benn had this to say to the media,

‘I really enjoyed it and got some reception here, so it’s just a great experience so early in my career.

‘To hit America and England is something special. It’s really different.

‘Here the way they do things is completely different and it will take a while to get used to it, but it is early doors and when it comes to the time to fight here – potentially for titles – I will know what I’m in for.’

The time will soon be upon us when Conor Benn will need to be pushed up the ladder and challenging for titles.
