Yesterday it was a pleasurable experience being able to write how the build-up to the huge heavyweight clash, at Wembley Stadium between Anthony Joshua and Wladimir Klitschko was being conducted in a manner the noble sport of boxing should be.
The inference of the article being that both heavyweights were acting like gentlemen and avoiding all the razzamatazz that goes with bad-mouthing each other and generally being obnoxious.
Today though it is a different story.
With the heavyweight clash between David Haye and Tony Bellew , at the O2 Arena, drawing closer, the two fighters continue to chastise each other.
Ahead of a press-conference to promote the fight on Monday, a press conference that will be held in Liverpool, the city Bellew heralds from, the reigning world cruiserweight champion has again resorted to the type of behaviour that does boxing no favours.
The last time the two fighters went head-to-head Haye swung a punch in the direction of Bellew prompting the cruiserweight champion to remark,
?We?ve got plans for him on Monday. He?s coming to my backyard. It will be tasty.
?If he gets close to me, I?ll be the first one to smack his F***n face.
?I don?t give a f*** if the fight gets called off. If he gets close, I don?t care about nothing.?
Oh dearie me!
