Bellew Struggles to 10th Round Stoppage

Did I hear Tony Bellew stating he felt much more comfortable at his new weight which sees him fight at cruiserweight?

Sorry to be the harbinger of bad tidings Tony but to me, last night, you looked distinctly chubby and not in the best of condition which, considering you are homing in on a supposed world title fight doesn?t, for me, auger well.

In fact I?d suggest that it was probably fortunate that you were matched with an opponent that wasn?t anywhere near the level we?d expect you to be meeting at this stage of your career.

Ivica Bacurin may well have lasted ten rounds but that was simply because he had good survival techniques and knew how to stay out of trouble.

Having Bacurin down on the floor three times, in the fight in the 2nd, 5th and 9th rounds, should have provided Bellew with the impetus to finish his opponent off but he couldn?t and only the fact that the referee decided enough was enough, in the tenth round, gave Bellew the added bonus of a stoppage on his record.
