As the mandatory challenger for the WBC light heavyweight crown, Tony Bellew can finally see light at the end of the tunnel.

It has been decreed, by the WBC, Bellew will fight the winner of the upcoming Adonis Stevenson v Tarvis Cloud fight.

The fight between those two fighters will dictate who Bellew faces with a possible date of 30th November being suggested.

As for a possible destination, it looks as if Bellew will have to concede home advantage and travel to Canada, possibly Quebec, for his title shot which, if the proposed date is correct, will fall on Bellew?s birthday.

Talking about the confirmation of the title shot, Eddie Hearn has commented,

?I am delighted Tony has got his shot ? and what a perfect potential date for it.?

?Tony has worked tirelessly to get a second crack at a world title and he?s ready to claim it now ? what a dream birthday present it will be when he does.?

It certainly would but let?s not under-estimate the task that faces Bellew, both Stevenson and Cloud are operators at the top end of this division and Stevenson has shown what punching power he has in knocking out Chad Dawson.

Nevertheless, it?s another huge date that could, shortly, be put in the calendar.
