After the crushing defeat Tony Bellew suffered at the hands of Adonis Stevenson, in Quebec, the Liverpool fighter decided to move up to cruiserweight.

In the reference fight, against Stevenson, Bellew?s challenge for the WBC light-heavyweight belt never really got started with the challenger given a lesson by the classy champion who eventually halted his brave opponent in round six.

In moving up to cruiserweight Bellew will have everything to prove. Can he do the business at the next weight up or will the extra weight expose his limitations? Boxing can be a cruel sport and Bellew will be anxious to get his new career started.

To that effect it has been announced that Bellew will make his cruiserweight debut on March 15th. The fight will take place at the Liverpool Echo Arena and it?ll give an indication as to whether the 31 year-old can rebuild his career, although at the time of writing one of the key factors in that outcome remains questionable as we don?t know his opponent yet.
