Belfast to Honour Frampton

After his splendid win over Kiko Martinez, on Saturday evening in the Titanic Quarter in Belfast, Carl Frampton will be given a civic reception.

Frampton, Belfast?s first World Boxing champion for twenty years will be received at the City Hall at 13:00 hours tomorrow (Tuesday).

Also expected to attend with the new IBF super bantamweight champion will be his immediate family, his manager Barry McGuigan and his trainer Shane.

Discussing the timing of the event, the Lord Mayor Nichola Mallon has remarked,

?We?re staging this reception at lunchtime to allow as many people as possible to come to the City Hall and show Carl just how proud everyone in Belfast is of what he has achieved.?

?Celebrating the best of Belfast has been the theme throughout my term in office ? and this will be a celebration our city will revel in.?
