The melee that took place at the press conference ahead of the clash between Dillian Whyte and Dereck Chisora, on Wednesday has had ramifications for the latter.
Following the fracas where Chisora, upset by something Whyte had said, picked up a table and hurled it in the direction of his opponent, the British Boxing Board of Control have withdrew their sanction of the fight being for the British Heavyweight title.
That means that the fight will still go on but Whyte?s Lonsdale belt will not be up for grabs.
However, we?re led to believe that the fight will still be an eliminator for the WBC world heavyweight title, thereby giving Chisora a reason to fight.
Chisora has also copped for a two-year ban from boxing which will be enforced if he commits another offence and well as being fined £25,000 and told to pay £5,000 costs.
In order to prevent a similar occurrence the fighters will not weigh-in together and will be kept apart until they come face-to-face in the ring.
The British Boxing Board of Control will also hold a hearing, at a date to be confirmed, to discuss the actions of those others involved.
