After taking the IBF middleweight title off of Danel Geale, last time out, Britain?s Darren Barker makes his first defence this Saturday evening.

Barker will be travelling to the Porsche Arena, Stuttgart, Baden- W├╝rttemberg,, Germany to take on the former WBA middleweight champion, Felix Sturm.

To some, Barker has picked a tricky first defence against a fighter who has a record of 38-3-2 with 17 by way of knockout, however Barker, with a record of 26-1 with 16 by knockout, will have gained in confidence after that monumental night in Atlantic City.

In fact, ahead of the fight, Barker has expressed a desire to be an active champion, remarking to the media,

?There is zero chance I will lose this fight. I know what I have to do to beat Felix. I want a long and active reign as champion.?

Saturday promises to be an enthralling night and as the fight gets nearer we?ll be giving it all our focus as it gets nearer and nearer.
