Weigh-ins can be tempestuous affairs!

With so much at stake and testosterone levels at a high, it is perhaps inevitable that it occasionally all kicks off.

Yesterday, the weigh-in for the huge promotion at the Liverpool Echo Arena tonight, saw 1,200 fans turn up.

Whilst Tony Bellew and Nathan Cleverly wet eye-to-eye and exchanged a few verbals, behind the scenes it, so we hear, all kicked off between two super-middleweight rivals in George Groves and James DeGale.

An insider, speaking to the media, had this to say,

?It was absolute carnage.?

?Words were exchanged and then it kicked off.?

?Both fighters were right in there in the middle and they came head-to-head before they were just about shifted into separate rooms.?

Eddie Hearn, when pressed on what had happened, commented,

?There was an incident between the DeGale and Groves camps. Our security was called and it was dealt with quickly and efficiently before any real damage was done.?

Clearly there is no love lost between the two boxers and with the pair having already me twice, once in the amateur ranks and once in the professional ranks, with Groves winning both encounters, surely a huge domestic tear-up awaits us next summer.
