Tonight, at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast, Carl Frampton makes the first defence of his IBF super-bantamweight belt.
Although it is a mandatory defence and one that could prove to be a classic with the Californian, Chris Avalos, providing the challenge, most pundits reckon Frampton will hold on to his belt.
However, the challenger?s camp would beg to differ, as you?d expect, with three of the camp, including the fighter, predicting a short reign as champion for Carl.
First up is the challengers coach and father, Felipe Avalos, who has remarked vociferously to the media,
?I think it?s going to be a good fight but my son is going to win in no more than 6 rounds.?
Whilst the fighter himself, Chris Avalos, had this to say about the coming encounter,
?I?ve got bad news. I?m going to win.
?I?m going to take the belt home.
?I haven?t come all this way to lose. That would be stupid. It makes no sense.?
Whilst Avalos manager Mike Crisso has joined in the verbal attack by commenting,
?Carl?s going to have a short stay as champion.
?It is a tough fight, but Carl has never fought anyone in the class of Chris. We will be going home with the IBF title.?
Crisso is so sure his man will emerge triumphant that he?s had a £10,000 bet on his fighter.
He should have saved his money I reckon as Frampton will hear those magic words,
And still champion??????
Avalos Camp Remain Confident
