On the under-card, in Cardiff last night, as Andrew Selby moved closer to a crack at a world flyweight title, were two intriguing contests.
The first saw Matty Askin take on the home fighter, Craig Kennedy, for the vacant British cruiserweight title.
Askin emerged as the victor, silencing the vast majority of the partisan Cardiff crowd by knocking out Kennedy.
Askin will now be looking to climb the cruiserweight ladder and possibly move towards fighting for the European title.
Also on the show, making his first appearance as a professional, was Fred Evans.
Evans, who claimed a silver medal at the London 2012 Olympics, took on Najim Fennane in a six-round contest.
The debut boy put on a fine show to take the decision by a points margin of 60-54.
Two names to look out for in the future ? Matty Askin and Fred Evans.
