Does either stand a chance of that big fight?

Yesterday?s announcement that Amir Khan will take on Devon Alexander in December, in the US, has seen the Golden Boy Promotions president, Oscar De La Hoya, try and sell the fight.

The continual insistence that Khan could, possibly, be Floyd Mayweather?s opponent come next May, seems to have been picked up by Oscar with the legend remarking,

?Amir Khan looked good against my boy Collazo, but I have a feeling he wants to make a statement against Alexander, and Alexander is coming off a good win in a good action fight with Soto Karass.?

?What?s happening here is they realize they have to prove themselves if they want to get a really big fight, like against Mayweather.?

Those words might read well on paper but if Amir Khan is going to get that fight with Mayweather he?ll need to demolish Alexander in big style, but if, although we doubt it, Alexander comes out on top, we?d be very surprised if Mayweather would even consider a fight against him.

What are your thoughts on the subject matter?
