On the under-card of the Frank Warren promotion at the Copper Box Arena, in Stratford, last night, three emerging fighters had their chance to shine.

The highly rated Frank Buglioni, cheered on by large numbers of supporters, was defending his WBO European super-middleweight title against the veteran Italian, Gaetano Nespro

Buglioni showed his undoubted class and moved a step closer to a world title fight by stopping Nespro in the fifth round. The hard-punching Buglioni had the Italian down in the fourth and when the Italian went down for a second time in the fifth round the contest was stopped.

Bradley Skeete fighting the Frenchman Christophe Sebire, for the vacant WBA intercontinental belt, put on an emphatic display to claim a unanimous points victory with the scores being given as 120-108, 119-109 and 117-111.

However, there was disappointment for 23 year-old Steve Collins who, in a four round contest , was taking on Tommy Clifford, from Somerset. After four rounds of action, the son of the former Irish world champion Steve Collins, saw the fight given as a draw with the score beng announced as 38-38.
