Over in Las Vegas, this Saturday evening, at the MGM Grand, Amir Khan will face off against Devon Alexander.

It?s a fight that many feel should have taken place this time last year but with Khan chasing an ill-fated fight with Floyd Mayweather, a fight that I still believe will not happen, it was put on the back-burner.

But with talk of a fight with Mayweather still prominent in the eyes of the Bolton fighter, Amir is under no illusion as to what he has to do this Saturday evening.

Facing a former two-weight world champion, in Alexander, a fighter who has the respectable record of 26-2 with 14 coming by way of knockout, Khan may have to stop his man or batter him for twelve rounds for the American public to accept him as a possible opponent for Floyd.

Talking about this opportunity Khan had this to say,

?This is definitely an audition, or a dress rehearsal for a fight with Mayweather. It will be the opportunity to imagine what it will be like when I?m up against Floyd Mayweather, the biggest fight of my career.?

I?m still not so sure Amir, I reckon Floyd Mayweather might just be stringing us all along!
