As we suspected and covered yesterday, Anthony Joshua?s next fight will be against Kubrat Pulev on October 28th.
It has also been confirmed that AJ?s IBF and WBA belts will be on the line at the Principality Stadium as AJ faces an opponent who has only ever lost to one opponent, Wladimir Klitschko.
In taking on the Pulev fight AJ has started on what is hoped to be a road to unifying the world heavyweight title, with a mandatory defence against Luis Ortiz to follow and then a huge unification bout against the WBC title holder, Deontay Wilder.
Talking about taking on Pulev, AJ has remarked to the media,
‘I have been eager to get back in the ring since Wembley.
‘I’ll be locked away focusing on fight number 20 for the next eight weeks. I am excited to experience the atmosphere in a sold-out Principality Stadium and aim to give the fans a spectacular night.’
This will be the first time AJ has fought in Wales but not the first promotion the Principality (Millennium) Stadium has staged.
On previous occasions it has seen Wales own hero, Joe Calzaghe, fight twice with Calzaghe beating Peter Manfredo and Mikkel Kessler back in 2007.
Prior to that it also staged a Commonwealth heavyweight title fight when Matt Skelton and Danny Williams went head-to-head in 2006.
It promises to be another exhilarating night.
