It?s that time of the year where the BBC announces the candidates for its annual Sports Personality of the Year award.

An occasion that?s attended by a who?s who in sport as the BBC try and convince us that the service they provide on the sporting front, is top-notch.

This year, 2017, the candidates have been announced and amongst them is a certain Anthony Joshua.

It?s been a wonderful year for AJ, culminating in two huge fights whereby the Watford fighter defended his titles in bouts at Wembley Stadium (London) and the Community Stadium (Cardiff).

As AJ knocks out all those put before him, we?re hoping that 2018 will see a unification fight with either Deontay Wilder or Joseph Parker.

However, as far as the bookmakers are concerned, AJ has the BBC Sports Personality of the Year award wrapped up, with the bookies quoted him as 1-4 on to win.

His nearest contenders in the bookmakers eyes are Lewis Hamilton at 6-1 and Chris Froome at 14-1.

Making it a case of Boxing, Formula 1 and Cycling ruling the roost.

Which takes me back to the line earlier in this article about the BBC trying to kid us the sporting service they provide is top-notch, clearly not when the BBC doesn?t cover any of the three sports leading the way as far as the bookmakers are concerned!
