Over in Quebec, Canada, last night, Adonis Stevenson moved a step closer to a unification fight with Sergey Kovalev.
Stevenson, now thirty-seven years of age was defending his WBC light-heavyweight title against thirty-five year old Sakio Bika.
In a fight that was to prove to be a gruelling encounter rather than a spectacular punch fest, Stevenson took the verdict on the score-cards of all three judges with the scores being given as:-
? 115-111
? 116-110
? 115-110
For Bika the defeat means that his record slips to 35-7.
However, if Stevenson is to meet Kovalev then he?ll need to up his game or as many have already stated, hope he gets that hammer punch in at least once in the twelve rounds.
