Last night, at the T-Mobile Arena, in Las Vegas, Britain?s Nicola Adams was scheduled to make her first appearance, in the US, on the under-card of the Golovkin v Alvarez bout.

Unfortunately, for Nicola, the bout didn?t take place.

Nicola should have been fighting the Hungarian boxer Alexandra Vlajk, in a super-flyweight contest.

Ahead of the bout Nicola has been eagerly looking forward to fighting in Las Vegas, remarking to the media,

‘This is something you dream about as a kid. It may never come true and it’s nice to think I’m able to achieve my dreams.

‘I don’t know if we’ve ever had women on the undercard of such a big event before, or in Vegas. We are definitely changing the game for the better.’

However, it wasn?t to be with Vlajk withdrawing from the contest after a problem was found during the pre-fight blood tests.

The postponement left 35-year-old Adams devastated but she had the good grace to remark via the Twitter,

‘Thank you everyone for your support and kind messages.’

Unfortunately, these things do happen.
