Like it or not female boxing is starting to make an impact.

Yesterday it was announced that Nicola Adams will have her first professional fight in Manchester at the Manchester Arena, on 8th April.

Adams has a superb amateur pedigree which includes winning gold medals at two Olympic Games.

Her opponent, in her first professional fight, will be the Argentine fighter, Virginia Noemi Carcamo.

Carcamo, 32-years-of-age, has a respectable record, having won four of her seven contests so far.

Adams has been training with the well-known trainer Virgil Hunter in the US and had this too say about her upcoming fight,

‘I’m so excited. All I want to do is get in the ring.

‘Training with Virgil Hunter has been amazing. He’s taught me some great new things for my professional debut.

‘All my focus is on 8 April and the road to becoming a world champion.’

Here at Vital Boxing we wish Nicola well in her professional career.
