Like it or hate it women?s professional boxing is here to stay and here at Vital Boxing we?re ready to embrace it.
Last night, up in Manchester, Great Britain?s double Olympic Gold medal winner, Nicola Adams, made her professional debut.
Adams was matched against the tough Argentine fighter Virginia Carcamo.
However, Adams produced a decent performance to take the verdict on a 40-36 points verdict over the four rounds.
With each round being of two-minutes duration, 34-year-old Adams, boxing at flyweight, was vastly superior and well worth the verdict.
Talking about the win, Adams had this to say,
‘I was a bit too eager to get the stoppage as I wanted to entertain the crowd.?
After getting that first crucial win under her belt, Adams is set to continue her professional career on May 13th, in Leeds.
Watching Adams move through the ranks could, we believe, be an interesting proposition and here at Vital Boxing we wish her all the best.
