Plus there will be others!

As Kell Brook basks in the glory of his recent successful first title defence, albeit against what must be said was one of the most limited mandatory challengers I can recall, the media campaign to build Brook into the next British boxing superstar continues.

Naturally, the crusade is being led by his management team, led by Eddie Hearns with the promoter remarking about his charge,

‘Carl was there on Saturday and when he retires Kell is the perfect replacement as the star of British boxing.

‘I think Kell’s virtually there at the moment. There are no other British fighters out there who have beaten the best in their division so it’s there for Kell to take. What a future he has ahead of him.’

He may well have but as for becoming the star of British boxing once Carl Froch does call it a day, I?m fairly certain there will be others in the frame for that accolade.
