This weekend, down in Brisbane in Australia, Manny Pacquiao returns to the ring to fight the Australian fighter, Jeff Horn.
For those who can recall, when Pacquiao opted to put the name of his next opponent to the vote, it was Amir Khan who emerged as the choice for those that voted.
However, for one reason or another that didn?t happen and Pacquiao is now set to face Horn, who is unbeaten as a professional boxer.
Pacquiao though, according to his trainer, Freddie Roach, is looking for another showdown with Floyd Mayweather Jnr, with Roach summing the situation up as thus,
?Manny is in a must-win situation. He wants a re-match with Mayweather.
?And to get Mayweather you have to look good against Jeff Horn.?
With Pacquiao himself remarking about the possibility of another bout with Mayweather Jnr,
?If there?s a chance, I?m willing ? but let?s focus first on this fight. We don?t want to estimate Horn.?
One wonders though whether Mayweather Jnr has any interest in a serious return to the ring or whether the circus that is surrounding his fight with Conor McGregor is the kind of match-up he wishes to settle for these days.
