And it is Terence Crawford!

Hanging on to his title in somewhat debatable circumstances and in the process suffering a badly broken jaw, Ricky Burns was harbouring ambitions to mix it up again with his foe from that night, Raymundo Beltran.

Although, being on the wrong end of the decision last time out and vowing never to set foot in this country again, it appeared that Beltran had mellowed that stance and was prepared to fight Burns again.

However, the WBO, whose belt Burns holds have other ideas and have ordered Burns to make a mandatory defence against the #1 WBO challenger, Terence Crawford. Apparently, both camps have 30 days to reach an agreement for a fight that could cause Burns huge problems, even if Matchroom Sport can bring the fight to Glasgow.

Crawford has an impeccable record of 22-0 with 16 by way of knockout and is thought, by many, to be the toughest opponent out there at 13 pounds. Burns, in his last two fights, has looked to be on the slide and Crawford could well be the one to end his reign.
