At the Principality Stadium, in Cardiff, on Saturday night, the forgotten man of British heavyweight boxing, David Price, has a wonderful opportunity to resurrect a career that looked to be heading nowhere.

Price will be taking on the #1 WBA contender Alexander Povetkin and it appears that the winner will become the mandatory challenger for the WBA title, currently held by Anthony Joshua.

For Povetkin it is probably the just reward for a battling career whereby he?s never been far from being amongst the best heavyweights in the world, for the Liverpudlian fighter, Price, it must be seen as a dream come true after his recent run of form.

The pundits, quite naturally, make Povetkin the favourite for this fight, with Price?s ability being questioned due to the fragile nature of his chin.

However, even if Povetkin wins, he could be forced to wait for his world title shot with the WBA, acting sensibly, agreeing that a clash with whoever wins the Joshua v Parker unification bout could be put on hold if the next fight for the victor would be against the WBC world title holder Deontay Wilder.
