I?m not sure who is disappointed the most, me; or the array of fighters hoping that Carl Froch would entertain them in a world title defence!

But, as we all know, money talks in this sport of ours and with Carl Froch redefining the face of Sky Box Office with his thrilling fight against the Dane, Mikkel Kessler, we kind of surmised that a Froch v Kessler III could be on the cards, something Froch has definitely hinted at with the following quotes appearing in the morning press,

?A rematch with Kessler would be good. I think he?s away having a two-week break with his partner, which is well earned.?

?Until he?s back, we?re not going to know exactly what he wants to do.?

?But that will take priority over a rematch with Andre Ward because Ward doesn?t really bring much to the table in terms of revenue.?

?This is what the promoters are telling me and it?s what the fans are telling me.?

?I?ll happily fight Ward, but let?s see if we can get him over to England. If he fancied that, then you never know.?

Now whilst another thriller, against Kessler, does sound enticing, I have to ask whether the sport would be better served if Froch were to take on either of James DeGale, George Grves or even Nathan Cleverly in a catch-weight contest.

I?d certainly be interested to know your thought on the subject!
