Now in the professional ranks, but still awaiting to make that bold first step into the ring, Anthony Joshua has the opportunity to make a name for himself.

Now it?s fair to say that fighters are confident men, it?s part and parcel of the game I?d suggest, so we can?t really blame our London 2012 Olympic super-heavyweight gold medal winner when he suggests that by the time he?s seen his current three year deal out with the Matchroom stable he?ll have seen off David Haye, Tyson Fury and the rest of them.

With Joshua remarking to the media about turning professional and his ambitions of dominating the scene,

?I feel in my heart and in my mind that this is what I want to do.?

?Why can?t I do it? Three years from now I?ll be developed mentally and physically.?

Now whether that?s true or not remains to be seen but we?ll be getting our first sighting of Joshua, in the professional ring on October 5th when he makes that much anticipated debut at the O2 Arena in a six round fight against an, as yet, un-named opponent.

A date to put in your diary methinks.
