It seems that fortune has conspired to make this a bad week for Carl ?The Jackal? Frampton.

The Irish fighter, who lost his world title in the re-match against Leo Santa Cruz, in Las Vegas, was hoping to get back onto the world title scene pretty quickly.

One possible route would have been a rubber fight against Santa-Cruz, with a third fight determining who was the better fighter.

Unfortunately, the IBF have decreed that Santa Cruz must defend the WBA title against Abner Mares.

Another route would have been a domestic tear-up against the IBF world title holder, Lee Selby.

However, news also broke that Selby has been ordered to defend his title against Jonathan Victor Barros, the fighter he was due to fight on the under-card of the aforementioned re-match between himself and Santa Cruz.

It appears that patience could be the requirement for Frampton over the coming weeks.
