Something that has caused McGregor to make a bold prediction.

With the circus that is the fight between Floyd Mayweather Jnr and Conor McGregor set to take place a week Saturday, I suppose, despite my reservations about the whole shenanigan, we should start to show some interest.

The latest development, ahead of the fight at the T-Mobile Arena, in Las Vegas, is that the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NAC), have bent the rules slightly to accommodate a request from one of the two combatants.

Both boxers, instead of using the standard 10oz gloves, will use the smaller 8oz gloves, something which has caused McGregor to beat his chest fiercely before remarking about the decision,

‘I don’t believe with the new gloves he makes it out of the second round.

‘Part of me kind of wants to show some skill and dismantle him but I do not see him absorbing the blows.

‘I am ready to go to war for 12 rounds and I am also ready to put him away in seconds.

‘There is no way in hell I am not prepared to fight in the deepest of trenches.’

Brace words from the UFC man, but does he have the skills to get to Mayweather or will the man with the 49-0 record just have too much slickness about him to evade what we presume will be an all-out aggressive attack from McGregor.

I guess the answer will be there for all to see on the evening of August 26th, in Las Vegas.
