It has been mentioned on more than one occasion that our own Martin Murray could well be the next opponent that Gennady Golovkin will fight.

However if that is the case then a hug spanner could be about to be thrown into the works.

Figures coming out of the USA suggest that Golovkin, as far as HBO are concerned is big business.

For his latest fight, last weekend, against Marco Antonio Rubio, HBO are reporting that the fight averaged 1.3 million viewers.

That makes the fight the 2nd most viewed fight this year and could be persuasive enough for the likes of Miguel Cotto and Saul Alvarez to chance their arm with the explosive boxer in a fight that would provide both fighters with a huge purse.

It?s the sort of purse that Monte Carlo would have trouble matching if Golovkin were to fight outside of the US against Murray!
