For what has the potential to be the biggest night in Boxing this country of ours has seen.
As the Froch v Groves re-match starts to draw nearer, with May 31st the date scribed in stone as the date old scores will be settled once and for all, Eddie Hearn announced today that another 20,000 tickets, for the showdown, will shortly be put on sale.
The fight now has all the potential to be the biggest night ever when it comes to British boxing history. Hearn took a gamble by booking Wembley Stadium as the venue as was rewarded when the initial 60,000 ticket sold out in the blink of an eye.
The extra tickets will already, no doubt, add to the revenue raised but Hearn, in true promoter style, believes it is all about getting as many punters inside Wembley Stadium to see the pugilists in action, remarking to the media,
?It?s fantastic that we have managed to ensure even more fans will be in Wembley for this monumental occasion,?
?We have worked hard with the council, Wembley and Transport for London and I am delighted that we have come to an agreement to get as many fans as possible into the stadium to create an incredible atmosphere.?
Will Hearn be able to shift those extra 20,000 tickets?
Looking at the speed the original 60,000 went in, I believe he most certainly will!
